SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Education’s Simulated Workplace program has helped land two more students full-time jobs right out of school.
MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — The West Virginia Manufacturers Association Educational Fund celebrated the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” video contest Tuesday night at a ceremony at Blue Ridge Community and Technical College.
The contest featured five local middle schools and five manufacturing companies.
The program included speakers discussing the future of manufacturing related to industry, and getting students out of the classroom and into the manufacturing field.
Experts say the manufacturing industry is growing: Companies are looking to fill tons of positions they have available. Now, a statewide organization is trying to get the youth interested.
West Virginia Manufacturers Association Education Fund hosted a manufacturing workshop for kids on the campus of West Virginia Northern at their Weirton location Friday.
It’s all part of their program “Explore the New Manufacturing.”
