Hurricane Middle School and Cyclops Industries, Inc Team Up for the Explore Student Video Contest

Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to release Hurricane Middle School’s video submission in the Kanawha Valley region of the Explore Student Video Contest.  The video showcases Cyclops Industries manufacturers safety sight glasses and viewport assemblies to help keep employees safe while ensuring the piping systems are operating efficiently.

The students are competing for three regional awards: Outstanding Creativity, Best Manufacturing Message, and Viewer's Choice.  Visit https://www.exploremfgwv.com/2023-kanawha-region-video-contest to view the Hurricane Middle School video and cast your vote in the Viewer’s Choice Contest.  Voting closes on April 16th at midnight.

The Hurricane Middle School team: Arin Barkley, Gavin Chipps, Brandon Eckhart, Peyton Edwards, Bear Fuller, Mika Gonzalez, Gabriel High, Lenon Hodge, Tim Long, Arianna O'Neal, Gracyn Stowers, Connor Westfall, Quintin Williams, and faculty advisor Julia A. Marino.

Cyclops support team: Kim Mack, Nathan Mack, Justin Cavender, Chad Lindsey, and James Strawn.

“Today’s middle school students will be tomorrow’s workforce in manufacturing in West Virginia,” said Program Director Monica Cross, who oversees the Explore the New Manufacturing program on behalf of the West Virginia Manufacturers Association Educational Fund’s efforts to create student awareness and excitement about careers in manufacturing and the training opportunities for these positions in their local areas. “We are excited to share Hurricane Middle School’s video with you.  The team did an excellent job, and their results illustrate the use of creativity, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.”
