Explore the New Manufacturing is pleased to release St. Joseph School’s video submission in the Eastern Region What’s So Cool About Manufacturing? Student Video Contest. The video showcases the creation of many popular products manufactured by Procter & Gamble, located in Inwood, West Virginia.

Participating St. Joseph students: Cora Farmer, Evelyn Diaz-Perez, Hung Nguyen, Jacob Buchana, Bailey Summers, Daniel Oshiyoye, Tiffany Nguyen, and Bracha Warui.
“Procter & Gamble, Tabler Station, was excited to participate in the What’s So Cool about Manufacturing? project with St. Joseph School,” stated Shannon Winkelman, Site Administrator. “It was a great opportunity to provide the students with insight regarding the manufacturing industry. They seemed very excited to learn about the production process and the different job opportunities available at a P&G manufacturing site. The automation and robotics aspects were deemed “very cool” and broke some paradigms regarding manufacturing. The students enjoyed asking our engineers, product research, and line operators questions about their daily work, what they like most about P&G, and their favorite P&G products. All of us at P&G wish St. Joseph and the other participating schools good luck in the contest.”

“Today’s middle school students will be tomorrow’s workforce in manufacturing in West Virginia,” said Program Director Monica Cross, who oversees the Explore the New Manufacturing Program on behalf of the West Virginia Manufacturing Association Educational Fund’s efforts to create student awareness and excitement about careers in manufacturing and the training opportunities for these positions in their local areas. “This generation has a real opportunity to have lifelong careers in modern manufacturing environments that will use skills in technology, problem-solving, innovation, and communication.”
